In Lanzarote everybody know a little about everyone. But does any one know who lifeboat man "piglet" is

The night of the terrible disaster when A British-owned cross-channel ferry the 'Herald of Free Enterprise' left Zeebrugge, Belgium, with its bow doors open; it capsized, killing over 180 passengers.

Piglet was in the angling club at Eastbourne as finance chairman at about 10.30 two maroons went off to launch the Eastbourne lifeboat to assist in another rescue along the coast.

This was the first time that piglet went to the lifeboat station to offer his assistance,


Over the next ten years piglet worked as a member of the crew with some of the most dedicated people involved with safety and rescue at sea

These pictures are a reminder to those who worked with piglet and his tremendous respect for those who still serve


As to the present day "piglet" is now working with the cruz roja españa dive rescue unit
