THE TABOO SUBJECT

Many people are not inclined to discuss the subject of eliminations. We were often taught that bowel movements are dirty and, as a result, we learn to ignore or reject the whole process.

Many who really need help with bowel problems are often the ones reluctant to seek it. The “modern” world does not need to talk of such things. We refer to our time as the “pill generation”.

The earliest reference to colonic hydrotherapy found so far is to a primitive version of the therapy – an enema - contained in an Egyptian medical scroll called the Eber Papyrus and dated around 1,500 BC. In the earliest versions, patients sat in a stream and water was introduced into the bowel by using a hollow reed inserted into the rectum. Thankfully, things have moved on a long way since then!

Only 20 years ago, when a patient was admitted into hospital, the first thing that the doctor ordered was a high enema. Often, this was sufficient to reduce toxicity, bring down a fever, and completely change the course of an illness.

Don't get me wrong, colonics is NOT A CURE ALL. But with a professional therapist hydrotherapy colonics does have a place in our modern world, working alongside clinical medicine.

LanzaroteHealth has a referral system with a clinical doctor. So that we don't spend time on this soap box we do not practice alternative medicine we are complimentary. The clinical doctor is always the controlling practitioner. No therapy is available against the doctor's advice. LanzaroteHealth has a philosophy is that we should work together knowing our place and who should take control.

Therefore please do not ask us to contradict, disregard or work without clinical support, as refusal often offends.
