More people come for a colonic because of infrequent and difficult eliminations than any other reason. Constipation is a very troublesome condition, causing haemorrhoids, Diverticulitis, impaction, toxaemia and prolepses. Even more important, poor eliminations are the root of most diseases.

Constipation

Do you suffer from constipation?

If sluggish eliminations continue over a period of time, the rectum becomes distended and the urge to evacuate diminishes. A progressively worsening domino effect now occurs. The colon tends to narrow or balloon out as matter backs up, the transverse section sags, the ascending colon enlarges, and the colon becomes distorted into many different shapes.

Causes of constipation

There are several factors contributing to constipation. Although not all conditions will be present in every individuals case, common patterns emerge as listed below.

1….poor diet

2.....dryness of the colon lymph due to acidity

3….excess toxins

4….torpid or sluggish liver activity with decreased bile production

5….insufficient water intake

6….lack of exercise

7….nervous tension and stress

8….spinal misalignment

9….negative attitudes and emotions

The first four conditions are closely interwoven, for a diet low in fibre and high in starch, fat and meat crating a highly acidic condition. This dries out the lymph in the coo, peristalsis sows down, and toxicity builds up. Many of the toxins are then reabsorbed into the blood stream which overloads the liver, resulting in an inadequate production of bile, which is natures laxative.

An insufficient intake of water condition 5 decreases the colons muscle tone and slows down the movement of lymph fluid.

The last three conditions are also closely connected, for stress, tension and negative emotions contract both colon and back muscles. The resulting spinal misalignment puts pressure on nerves that affect the colon, slowing down peristalsis.
