After your Treatment
Within the treatment room is your own private toilet and shower suit. You have as much time as you need after the treatment to refresh yourself
Toilet aerobics
Once the treatment is over spend a little time on the toilet to allow any remaining water to pass through. This is very minimal. stretching your arms up in the air, leaning left and right will ensure that and water lodged in the curves of the colon are given free passage to be passed.
See the information sheet on the stool.
This is the best way to squat or sit using a conventional toilet
We suggest that you eat at your normal meal time, and consume a moderate amount of whatever seems gentle and nourishing to you. Eating a meal known to cause trouble in your abdomen directly after a colonic isn't a good idea. Salads, vegetable soups or broths, fruit, or juices are the best choice.
Will one colonic completely empty the colon?
Almost never. Firstly, many of us have a considerable amount of impacted faeces in our colon. This is hardened, rubbery or wallpaper like material. Substantial work must be done to remove it. Secondly, there is a subtle learning process involved in receiving colonics. As you become more aware of what is going on in your abdomen, and as your body learns how to allow the cleansing experience, you are better able to enter into that process, and therefore more material is released. One colonic will remove some of the stagnant waste in the colon. The second and subsequent colonics will remove more. How many you may wish to have will depend upon your personal objectives.
How Do I Prepare For a Treatment?
Your modesty is preserved at all times. You are given a gown to use, and will be sheeted and towelled up to your comfort level. During the treatment, suitable underwhere may be worn (please bring a spare pair for after)
It is ethically correct that you inform your primary clinical health care physician. Your clinical doctor is always the controlling practitioner. LanzaroteHealth has a referral system with a clinical doctor, if it is required
Your visit to the colonic hydrotherapy unit, will involve the taking of your case history followed by an explanation of the procedure. The colonic itself will take approx 45 minutes during which time water will be gently introduced into the colon whilst your therapist uses special massage techniques to stimulate the release of stored matter.
Herbal and probiotic solutions may be used, and your practitioner may advise beneficial dietary changes to further enhance your treatment.
For the best cleansing, drink plenty of water, fresh fruits and vegetables several days before your treatment. Since your abdomen will be massaged it is a good idea to eat or drink lightly in the 2 hours immediately preceding a colonic. Also helpful, but not essential, emptying the rectum with a bowel movement just prior to the colonic, saves time and permits more to be accomplished. Arrive early before your scheduled appointment time.
Your treatment can be fitted anywhere in your daily schedule. Many patients come during lunch breaks and return to work after.
